2025 – Off To Another Great Start
2025 has been another exciting year. My DJ Buddy, Joe Griffith and I rotated and
DJ’ed the Conestoga HS Basketball Team’s Home Games for the 2024-2025
Basketball Season. We played music before and after the games, during
timeouts, warmups and halftime. Our contact told us we added 10-15 points a
game. I DJ’ed a sold-out State Playoff game on March 8, 2025, in which they
advanced to the second round for the first time since 1987.
It was 10 years ago in 2015 when I DJ’ed at the Paoli Train Station on the Saturday
and Sunday, September 26 and 27 when Pope Francis was in downtown
Philadelphia. Where does the time go? The riders had a hoot doing the YMCA
and the Love Train. Of course I played “My Sweet Lord” and “I Say a Little
Prayer” as part of the two-day playlists.
2024 UPDATE
Over the last two years, my business has gotten back to normal, and I continue to do a wide variety of events that include Elementary School, High School, Senior Center groups, Township events and many, many more. I am encouraged that the new music over the last 2 years seems to have gotten back to stuff similar to the 2008-2015 era. In particular, I absolutely love “Die With A Smile” by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga. Check out the video on You Tube. We also are seeing a big crossover of Pop Country with the likes of Post Malone and Shaboozey. I already have a number of events for 2025 and I thank my clients.
New Summer 2022 Music
“Move” by DNCE and “Skyline” by Khalid are my two favorite new songs. I do not know why they have not cracked the charts better than they have. It is up to me to make them hits and they are in my playlists. “About Damn Time” by Lizzo is another song that I love and it has hit the charts quite well.
I think for the first time in a long time that music is getting better. Enjoy the summer and play those tunes!!!!
Getting Back to Normal after Covid
Even though Covid is still around, I have been contacted by many of my clients to DJ their events. They have been for both inside and outside events and it is great to be back doing them on a regular basis. May 2022 has been one of the busiest months I have ever had for a variety of events. These include Proms, School events, Parent’s Social events, a communion party and an event at an Over 55 community. It is refreshing to see people smiling again and being on the dance floor. There is a lot of good new music that has been released this year so it is fun to mix them with songs from the recent and distant past.
My Favorite Songs of the Last Five Years
The last five years have seen many Rap and Hip-Hop songs. I must say, they are not my favorites. Most of them sound the same and for some reason the artists like to use a lot of profanity. That bothers me for a lot of reasons which I am not going to pontificate on here. I do play the “Clean versions” of these songs, but thought I would share with you the non Rap/Hip-Hops songs that are my favorites over the last five years. Check out this playlist on my Playlist tab on my website.
